Stromatolite fossils from Ksar-es Souk, Morocco.
The stromatolite is preserved in beautiful red sandstone from the Kem Kem region and dates from the Cretaceous Period, approximately 100-145 million years old. Stromatolites are microbial fossils known to be one of Earth's earliest records of life and were crucial in creating Earth's current oxygen atmosphere.
Please note that these products are sold individually (ex. selecting a quantity of 3 will mean that you receive 3 individual items).
Our items are natural, the piece you receive may vary slightly in shape, color, and size from our product pictures. Our X-Large stromatolites often have two formations (as seen in in the second image).
